With 1 day to activation BT now inform me that they cannot switch on my internet until next Tuesday.
As I need to be connected for work does anyone know if any temp internet?
Just wondering if I should make BT pay? So far they have proved themselves more incompetent than Virgin or Sky?

Had the same issue, solved with a Three dongle although could have tethered my Giffgaff phone as an alternate.

I got it refunded by BT but only by complaining to their Chief Exec who forwarded it on to his executive level complaints team, who after a bit of Openreach 'ineffectiveness' were excellent.

Yes, most have a variety of potentials, or go to a high street store

Get to a three store for a dongle, decently cheap PAYG options.

Alternatively badger BT for one. When I moved house with O2 broadband they gave me a dongle with some data on it to use till the line was up and running.

BT Fon uses your neighbours' wifi signals and cobbles something together for you. Not 100% ideal but better than nothing.
Google it.

+1 for tethering your smartphone or a dongle or portable hifi hotspot with a data SIM

Usually worse than nothing. It's a load of hassle trying to connect and when I do I get zero data, or it loads web pages at 9600 baud speed.

Also annoying if your phone decides to auto connect to one of these. I have to force it to forget so I can get back onto mobile data and something useable.
