Teenage son is struggling with it, started as excessive hand washing, now moved onto to everything having germs on it and feeling awful if he has not washed after touching things. Been through an OCD book with him, he will talk about it which is improved from a few weeks ago when he insisted there was no problem. He wants to speak to the GP, we are phoning tomorrow but as he also has covid at present that won't happen til next week. Also contacted a child psychologist recommended to us.

I sympathise and wish you all the best for his recovery.

Jon Hershfield has written a number of books about OCD. Two stick out as possibly being helpful:
The OCD Workbook for Teens
When a Family Member has OCD

I've not read either of these, but have read a couple of his other books, and various articles he has written. In my opinion, he writes in an easily accessible way and really knows his topic.
