Evening all,
Just been given a new (to me) toy. Denon CEOL N10.
It has internet radio on it. I’ve never really ventured that far beyond BBC radio if I’m honest. Maybe a bit of XFM in the old days but that’s about it.
Tell me what I should try out?
I listen to NME 1 for 6 music type music without the waffle.
Radio Caroline for hearing lots of new to me old music and the total legend that is Peter Antony on Saturday afternoons.
Fip from France and Ness from Morocco ,I think.
I've got one as the DAB signal here is terrible.
Usual DAB stations, R4, R4ex, BBC World Service and then a couple ofnothers I like, ABC News Network and NPR to get an idea of what's going on elsewhere in the world.
But mainly it's just DAB without the signal issues.
I have one of these. Have you tried it yet?
denon used a database service for the internet radio catalogue that was free to use when they developed it. The owners of this now charge for it. Denon don’t care. Unless I pay for it, I can only access stations I have previously accessed.
Funnily enough I have just tried it. Doesn’t seem to have the full range I’d expected! Nevermind…
Fip live . Available on Alexa also

I think there was a thread on here last year about some site or app whereby you had an animated globe or something similar, which you could rotate with your finger and select a radio station from whichever country you pressed on the globe. I remember playing with it for days, it was fantastic fun, but I cant remember if it was on here or elsewhere.
Ahem, as above.

Has anyone mentioned Radio Garden yet
Another + for Peter Antony on Radio Caroline.
Been listening through the highs and lows since 1964, and still listening via the internet.
Radio Paradise can be OK
Quite a bit on hale.london I like.
North Norfolk digital is good - about 12pm
I love that Radio Garden, thanks. Not sure it will change what I listen to but the concept and interface is incredible.
Happened across Nordic Lodge Copenhagen this morning and now have it as a preset. Very chilled.

That's awesome, ta! 🙂
I had an older Ceol - what do they use for backend/aggregation these days?
If it's TuneIn it got heavily restricted just over a year ago after a court case with Sony/Warner over music licencing, so it's deemed that UK stations are covered by their PPL licence but international ones aren't. TuneIn had to block all the non-UK stuff.
Wife was most annoyed about losing Irish Christmas FM last year and we're less than a month away from her moaning about it again.
annoyingly it's TuneIn 🙁 there must be a way of hacking it but not my forte
NTS Radio is brilliant, as is the new DO!YOU!WORLD! breakfast show 9-12
