So my phone is on ID Mobile (Three) which day to day suits me but obviously it has issues in remote places.

Can I get an eSIM that works alongside my normal one and I can switch on if I have no signal? I'm not sure if that's how they work, it would be for an iPhone 13 which I believe does support an eSIM.

If so any recommendations for on that has an amount of data that lasts for 12months? Either using EE or Vodafone?

Cheers

Esims are easy - just buy and install - you just need to select the sim you want to use in your phone settings, as well as if you want the phone to decide which sim to use based on coverage.
You need to toggle both calls and data btw.

I used Arlo for international travel - but next time I’ll use my folks details to buy a local,eSIM from ee or whoever.

Yes I am with 3 having changed from Vodafone recently and I regret it as the signal quality is rubbish. I just got a vodaphone PAYG esim. Did it all online on my phone and the esim details turned up a few mins later. Minor faff installing it but not really and it all works really well I can choose which sim to use to call and also to use for data. You get some confused people wondering who you are for the first few calls!

Cool cheers, so they do what I want, I just need to find one that offers the data I want.

In the past I’ve used a Vodafone SIM that had 24GB data and lasts for 12months and was cheap. But I can’t seem to find the same at the moment, let alone eSIM ones?

This is the closest but I don’t need that much data / cost and it’s a standard SIM.

Edit: Actually Vodafone still do 24GB for 24months, but I can’t see an eSIM option?
