I don’t know if I am asking for the moon on a stick but I do some work for a charity involved in domestic violence/mental health. We need a logo for a project and have a hand drawn copy of whats needed. Its pretty basic but need it making electronic. Any ideas how or is there anyone who could do such a thing as a favour ?

Its been scanned but we need it to look less “done by hand”

Given it's for a charity, I am sure someone will help. I am sure all of those predicting hilarious things missed the

charity involved in domestic violence/mental health

part.

bongohoohaa, I know where you are coming from but it would be wrong to assume that a charity can't afford to pay for professional work (graphic designers need to earn a living too 🙂 ).

Trying (and failing) to sort the [img] out but Google is being a a mine.

If anyone wants to get their crayons out it's an anchor with some flowers.

So... that'd just be for graphic designers then?

I can't figure out posting it up.... I can always email it.
Fair point about paying for it but we have no funding for such things. In fact we've no funding for anything really and I (maybe naively) thought it was a quick job for someone who knows what they are doing.

If you want to mail it too me, (address in profile). I'll happily sort it out for you. With it being a charadeee. Rainbows and unicorns are extra though. My Mac is just at the menders being turbo-charged, but should have it back later today. I am literally sat here drawing. With Rotring pens. It's ace! 🙂

Will you need any pi charts? 😉

The two aren't mutually exclusive, you know. I'm certain that someone will be happy to provide serious help, and others some light-hearted posts.

If you've been on the Internet forums for any length of time you'll realise that graphic designers don't like being asked favours. They get a bit sensitive about such things and post 'hilarious' cartoons about being asked.

You say that like it's a bad thing. (-:

TBH, I don't really see a problem with asking for help with a charity.

I think that it's a bit unfair to accuse graphic designers of specifically objecting to being asked to do favours. We really are all-inclusive and non-discriminatory . We object to being asked to do anything at all, by anyone, and all requests are greeted with equal contempt

Alas, the fact it's a charity for mental health/dv issues means that I cannot engage in wilful rainbowery. Good luck getting it sorted, I'm sure Binners will do a grand job. 🙂

Well, way back when I used to work in print, requests for small "private jobs", or freebies as they are more usually known, were usually met with a request for a large bag of Sainsbury's donuts in return.
A very large bag... 😀

Rainbows and unicorns are extra though.
I thought it was extra to avoid those!?
I've got my pricing all wrong.

Charities to tend to ask for stuff for free. That's kind of the point, in fact 🙂

Very disappointed that we're not seeing the design process 'in-thread'.

So remind me how with no budget for anything a charity helps people possibly being battered to within an inch of their lives.

It helps them by providing art therapy.

Drawing logos mainly.

Maybe they are spending all their money on services for vulnerable people and have no spare money for graphic designers?

Does this charity have a website and name. Can you post a link or more details about it, and where in the country is it

🙂

PS

Upload your pics to imgur and then post on the site. Easier than Google
