Would anyone happen to know where I can get a GoreTex Down jacket altered? I know there are companies that offer repairs, but I am not sure of any that offer chest size alterations, which is what I need? Fnar fnar.

Thanks for any help.

Even if you can find someone capable of doing this, I doubt it would be cost effective given the amount of work it would take. Someone like PHD, who still manufacture in Stalybridge, probably have the expertise to do this, but I suspect will only work on their own products. Good people though and it might be worth a call/e-mail:

You'd probably be better off e-baying what you have and buying one that fits better. What's the jacket? Down-lined Gore-Tex is pretty specialist.

I have the same situation...a really good jacket that's a little to big now but perfectly fine WRT condition. It seems stupid that its cheaper to effectively throw items away and buy new ones!

... was going to be my suggestion.  I used them once for a tent repair.  They were fast, cheap and did a good job (and were about 5 minutes from where I used to work).

Last time I made this recommendation someone else posted that they'd had a bad experience there though, so YMMV.

If you're very far north, then these guys are supposed to be good.
