Looking for a decent TB303 clone for use in my dubby productions.
Don’t mind soft or hard. Used Reason before which I liked. Using Ableton as my DAW now, I have the free Novation Bass Station plug in but since I upgraded the OS, I’ve lost the ability to edit it properly.
Any opinions on the Behringer TD-3 Analog Bass Line? Seems like a very affordable hard option
My mate has the Behringer - hard to beat for the price but I'm a bit dubious of the build quality of their stuff so not sure how much longevity you'd get out of one before the pots inevitably start playing up (speaking from experience of using their kit over the years). Sounds better than any software options I've tried though.
If you haven't heard Om Unit's 'Acid dub studies' then give it a spin, he uses the TD3 for that (including the live shows).
IMO Behringer build quality has really come on - 15 years ago I wouldn't have touched it, now I think they're about as good as you'll expect (in this price range anyway!)
And my god is it easier to use than the original!!
Old school VST love for the Muon Tau, which still seems to be a thing...

Looks like Roland themselves do a soft 303 as part of their Roland Cloud thing, but not really sure how that works?
Audiorealism ABL3 gets a lot of love too.
Behringer unless you want to splash out on something like an Abstract Avalon. The D16 VST is quite nice but I think really best hands on.
The Donner B1 Syn Bass looks similar although another £50 or so than the Behringer. As in looks like it fills a similar need, not that it physically looks like a TD303
probably - Behringer TD-3-MO
a little more expensive than the base version but you get all the popular mods included
