I'm likely to be buying a little run-around this evening. I'm presuming that once I send off the V5 to notify of the change of owner that it will take a few days beofre this is registered so where do I stand on taxing it in my name and driving it? Do I have to wait until the DVLA have informed me that they have noted the change of driver?

Cheers

you can use the reference number on the new keepers slip you get from the current keeper.

Also worth noting you can now apply for change of ownership online, my logbook was back with me in 3 days rather than the 4 weeks it took last time.
