Tax is based on what you earn, not how many hours you work...
are you nick clegg?
More than Vodafone, less than the Queen.
£103.36 17 HOURS,
From none to lots based on how much you get paid an hour.
OK - so you're on the minimum wage (£6.08/hr). That's £5,400 per year.
Even working another 7 hrs per week, you'll still only be earning £7,624 per year, which is less than the £8,105 personal (tax free) allowance.
PS - I'm not an accountant and you should get someone else to check these figures.
ok thank you for your help

Use a tax calculator like this
Enter the details from your payslip and it'll work it out for you
Roughly speaking for the year 0% for the first 8k, 20% after that up to 35k. Tis not unusual for you to be taxed quite a lot for your first pay packet till they sort out your tax code, then give you it back.
