To be honest..I love my inkwork, but there are some particularly strident and venemous anti tat folks on here and I really can't be arsed with the usual 5 pages of bile or pics of bad tattoos taken from the web that will follow

I've got a fair bit of dotwork and a few bits by Phatt German but need to get some decent pics. Can't wait to get some more work done.

My Brother Dom died in Oct 2013 from Bowel Cancer.
The surgeon who'd been looking after him for the 6 years he'd been fighting the disease had previously told him he was as "strong as an Ox", which he promptly had tattooed under his winged heart.

My Tattoo is a tribute to my little Bro'

Sun needs another going over as a bit patchy due to surface area. I like it and don't care what anyone else thinks, even my mum is coming around to liking it! 🙂

I have also lost weight since this, yay!

I wonder how long it'll take for the "you'll never get a job with tattoos" crowd to turn up.

I might stick a picture up after work for the usual stw judgement but I don't fancy whipping my shirt off at work!

OK, managed to pinch them using instagrabbr, not sure what quality will be like...

First one was this on stomach / chest:

[img] [/img]

Then right arm (summer):

[img] [/img]

Then had left arm done on friday (autumn):

[img] [/img]

All taken straight after they were done so colours are a bit angry in pics.

Got another couple of older ones but nothing too exciting.

Lets have the hate....

Amazing work by Rob Richardson but are there really that many people getting full arm or leg tattoos of Brad Pitt or some other movie star of the moment? Or a Transfomer? I really like the tattoos with design or meaning but getting somebody who is popular "now" tattooed on your leg for ever and ever seems a bit strange...

Not a big fan of tats, in that I'd never have one, but admire the artistry - the seasons and the cats are brilliant!

@nowthen. I agree. His animal work is fantastic and pretty timeless but movie star tattoo's are quite a commitment. I have to say, his Darwin piece is a bit special especially the beard.

Liking rumple's and mrjmt's very much indeed, those colour sleeves are beautifully done.
Also like Tazzy's, as a reflection of his heritage they're spot on.
I've always been ambivalent about having tribal designs done when they're not ethnically appropriate, but will have done what they want to have done, but it's all a bit 'me too!'; just going into a tattooists and looking through a book of flash without any real thought given to significance.
I want two more done, but I don't have any spare funds, one would cost me around £70, not sure about the other, because it would be a handwritten script, and it would need to be by someone with real skill, so not likely to be cheap.

My half sleeve by Robert W Ashby at Off Key in Birmingham, might get more added and fill in gaps to join it all together at some point

[img] [/img]

bit more detail of the mountains etc

[img] [/img]

and my leg which is just random fun piratey stuff by my mate Alex at All One Tribe in Market Harborough. Again gonna get the gaps filled in and a massive crazy parrot on my thigh.

Not a fan of script but the best I've seen is by Anjris Straume.

I'm with you on that CZ I'd love some Polynesian/Maori art but it wouldn't be right. I'd love some more celtic knot work on my other arm but just can't afford it. Still need some of the colour on the flame work re-done as the ink just didn't take in a couple of spots.

Everyone, I didn't find the bit near the armpit to hurt at all, it actually felt nice compared to a lot of it! The worst for me was the little detailed rooty bits near my inner elbow area. Or maybe packing colour into the solid bits on my shin 🙁

CountZero - if you're prepared to pootle down this way - the guy I use is a custom/freehand specialist.
No books, no "I'll have no.27"
Took me 3yrs to find him as script has to be "right".
Now 16hrs into another custom piece

Taking the tape off to remove the cling film has always hurt me a lot more than anything they've done to me in the studio! 😮

Worst bit for me was the shading/colour on the inside of my arm and, oddly, the inside of my wrist. The power lining was a little sore as well

Shin is fine to tattoo, back of the knee is a bit tweaky but not as bad as the elbow or ribs. Don't worry about lodders, he's only a problem if you approach a bridge with two other goats

I fell asleep getting mine. Inside of elbow and towards the wrist were more noticeable, but in no way would I ever describe it as painful

Its weird with tattoo tweaks, I found my chest fine which apparently is one of the really bad areas for a lot of people, yet the end of my elbow being coloured in was a bit grim. I love the human body and all its little freaky foibles, its what makes people awesome

yep, found my arms generally more painful than my ribs (apart from round the side, that was awful), think different folk just feel it in different places. Sternum didn't hurt, just buzzed right up to my chin which was wierd.

Although it really varies, I find it wierd that you can go 1cm over from an area that doesn't hurt at all and suddenly feel it.

I was told that generally the more ticklish an area is, the more it hurts. Probably not too far off.

Yep, I am another weirdo, my shoulder blades were killer, made me a dribbling mess... but my hip onto my stomach was no bother and apparently that usually hurts. Shoulder blade pain is why I have not yet had the touch up on the sun done! Working out the plans for my sleeve now, will be colourful like my back.

The ditch was pretty unpleasant with some bits of skin kind of popping out and heading into the armpit after 9 hours in the chair was very close to tapping out, found the ankle most uncomfortable.
