Always amazed and pained me how Lypsyl was so sporadically available and hadn't completely cornered the market given how good it was and how shit all the alternative [ that I tried] were.

Then they went and changed the formulation 5 years ago and it became as rubbish as the others. I bought a big stack of the original at the time but this has sadly run out and I need to get something else.

Has anyone happened across any other brand that is like the original lypsyl, or different but good?

Mwah!

You mean lip balm? I have to say that one I discovered very recently has become an instant favourite, it’s not too sticky, it doesn’t go all soft and squidgy when it gets hot on your pocket, and it smells wonderfully of chocolate! It’s Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, and I found it in my local Wilco’s, when I bought some of the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter skin therapy on the recommendation of my tattooist.

Haha I've got a heath issue where if exposure to high UV my lips pop up like I've had trendy fillers it's not a good look.
Lypsil was the prevention with sp40 untill thay changed it like you say leaving me up the Alps with balloons for lips.

Burt's bees is the best I've found and some stuff my wife had but she peeled the label off it and forgot what it was lol.
I've used the Coco butter one too it makes me hungry.

Ha! There is that; I compensate by taking loads of KitKats to work! 🤣

Ah I remember the original Lypsil, used to get terrible chapped lips in winter when I was a kid.

Have you tried Carmex (the non-flavoured original recipe)? As good as the original Lypsil for me, if not better.

Jack Black intense therapy lip balm is my go to. I have tried nearly every lip balm available since benefit stopped selling smoooch, I used burts bees for a long time but Jack black applies better, has a better consistency for longevity, and repairs my lips overnight.

I don't do lip balm but my wife has switched to Burt's Bees now Lipsyl isn't available and it seems to be doing OK for her.

This struck a chord with me.

I'm going to have to find something as when I commuted by bike 5 days a week in all weathers, I'd go through lip balm quickly. Going back to occasional commutes, so will need some.

I find that when choosing lip-balm, I go for the stuff with SPF. I don't want to be a tanned-gent.

This is a little embarrassing TBH. I did think that at the time but then decided for some stupid reason that "going off at a tangent" had something to do with right angles. So I put it in perp'

I'm wrong. Will do better next time.

Should have checked with 8 9's son...
(sorry, had to get that in there)

Also, doff the hat to both to Superficial and midlifecrisis
