I'm looking for a tallish LED desk lamp to sit above my working area in the home office. As winter is now here, it's dark at 4pm and the room light is behind my fat head so I get shadows on video meetings (no easy way to move desk). It'd also be useful for darker days too. My monitor is 53cm high so ideally something higher than that.

Has anyone got one they can recommend?

I've got a regular desk lamp with an LED bulb in it. That might open up your options a bit?

IKEA do a flexible lamp exactly like that, just got one myself for the same purpose. £15 plus delivery and works a treat.

Slightly different but I put some LED strip lights in when I converted the attic to a studio and am seriously thinking about putting them in my home office (spare bedroom) as the light from them is so good. I guess you could knock up some kind of holding frame to mount them vertically and call them tall lamps.

I've a clone of https://www.benq.com/en-us/lamps/computer-desklamp/screenbar-lite.html in my study and it's great. No glare on the screen, unlike a lamp on the desk.

I picked up a large chrome anglepoise style desk lamp from Homebase at the weekend for £25 which adjusts up to about 65cm high. Perfect for my new desk I made and looks great! Not sure if it was just my local store though as I can't see the same one online.

Floor-standing Anglepoise? Worth checking their website for reductions/seconds, mine just came in a slightly scuffed box and the lamp was in perfect condition. No loss of space from a desk either.

How tall? I got a folding strip LED light thing for my mum ages ago, was sold through optician for a decent rate - adjustable, 8w or so - I use it for my work desk now. High enough up that it's behind my eyes (as it were) and is fully adjustable - for reach, tilt, swivel, the works. Really nice.

This *sort* of thing - https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08613S3TD/?coliid=I2R76H0LQ17587&colid=39AJE7O0MA1BM&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Interesting...

Just ordered a £25 clone from Amazon to try!

I wanted a light for the workbench and for reading but baseless. Got this yesterday and I'm so pleased with it another may well be on the way:

Amazon £37?

I have this situation. I put a longer piece of flex in the existing pendant fitting and hooked this over a strategically-placed fitting screwed to the ceiling above the desk, a bit like this:
like this.

It cost pennies.

@footflaps - thanks. Sadly I've got a curved screen so that won't work. Interesting idea though

Got my monitor mounted lamp today - pretty good so far, not bothered hooking my laptop up to the screens yet though.

I actually bought the lamp @Kcal links to above. Quite happy with it - and cheaper when bought - but the thing is usb-powered which isn't mentioned in the blurb
