Full of Russians and polish, who are worse than the germans.......... a lot worse. Don't go fully inclusive, you wont be able to get to food, as they all arrogantly walk in front of you. Oh and its Turdkey.

I've not been to Olu Deniz, but have been to Icmeler, Calis Beach and twice to Side.

All of them have been good holidays.
Icmeler is a busy resort with a mix of restaurants and bars, plus a nice beach.
Calis Beach was quieter, but with a nice beach and decent selection of bars and restaurants
Side we stayed all inclusive and didn't really venture from the hotel, apart from a couple of bus trips into Side.

The people are very friendly. They will all try to get you into their bars/restaurants, but they aren't overly pushy and you can always have a laugh with them.

There does seem to be an increase in Russians, who as mentioned seem very rude.
In Side, it seemed to be a lot of Scandinavians who were the rude, queue jumping, sunbed hoarding contingent. But, you just need to ignore them and enjoy your holiday.

There's plenty of historical places to do day trips on, as well as the usual jeep safari and watersports.

I really like holidays in Turkey.

I'd far rather go somewhere that's full of Germans than full of Brits to be brutally honest. Germans have their own traits abroad, but we can't talk, bunch of drunken mongs, bedecked in their fave footy strips, dear oh dear..

Turkey seems to be a bit of a love it or hate it sort of place.

I have been a few times and won't be going again, got some friends though who dream of living there.

My mother wad attacked by a bloke with a knife. Ended badly for him 😯 😆

A collegue was mugged by a bloke with a knife.

I saw off some dodgy fellas using a brick and a stiff upper lip while wife and kid ran away.

Beach is made of fag ends.

There's some ethnic cleansing related tourist attractions which are interesting.

Syria might be better?

This was 15 years ago. Could be better now. Or not...

I worked in Turkey for a couple of years in the 90's and really loved it. The touristy bits are really touristy but once you see past the pushy street sellers the people are generally lovely. Corrupt as anything behind the scenes but you sort of get used to that after a while.

I went back for the first time in years last year and I too was amazed by the number of Russians on holiday there. The Western tourists where we were staying were pretty much middle aged and docile but the Russians were younger, louder and quite aggressive (not all obviously, big generalisation). Defiantly lowered the tone, but to a western eye their concept of 'fashion' at least added some amusement to the people watching!

Went to Marmaris last Easter, all inclusive. Had a great time, fantastic food, great sevice and fantastic scenery. Only did pony trekking as a trip, which was fun, riding through rivers and stuff.

Olu deniz is great. Only issue is that they store the water in huge tanks up in the mountains and use that in the summer. Stick to bottled water and juice at all costs.

Go to a market and embrace the haggling.

Fantastic place for diving. Always trial hotel pool dives if you haven't done it before. Some really great diving in the area.

The real Turks are fantastically friendly. We were invited to the barman's parents house for lunch on market day. A fantastic experience and they were genuinely friendly.

Go for a Turkish bath at the start of your holiday to get rid if the dead skin before the sun.

A real shave is also great.
