Heading there for work in November, gonna ask to delay my return flight by a couple days - no point flying all that way without seeing the place a bit.

Probably gonna be working in Taipei or Taichung, so suggestions in the area?

Taipei worth a few days mooching around? Hills and mountains good and easy to visit?

(Probably won't be bringing why cheap bike parts home haha, but are electronics with buying?)

Taipei is a great city. Easy to spend a few days exploring it, plenty to do and see. Recommend hiking up into the surrounding hills for the views and night markets for the food and buzz. People are pretty friendly too.

I love Taiwan. My favourite place in Asia.  Spend some time in and around Taipei.  Guide books etc will help you pick what you want to do..  the national museum and 101 are a must though.

If you're around Taichung and want to get into the hills, look up Dakeng area hiking trails. I couldn't walk properly the next day : )

If you have time to get up to Hehuanshan (by bus) that's a stunning area to go for a walk. Even better on a bike.

Thanks all. Have loved Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong in the past, so maybe a couple days in the city will do.
