Does anyone here use netflix? Thinking about joining but was wandering what experiences people have had with it? Or are there any other alternatives out there that i should consider also from your experiences?
Thanks
LoveFilm tends to have newer films and more updates than Netflix
Just trying the free 30 day trial.
Like Clunker said the films arent that new but there is some good stuff on there.
Doubt I will be keeping it going after the 30 days though, I do not think there is enough content to be worthy of a monthly subscription.
The UK version is terrible for content, use a VPN, like Hotspot shield and you can access the american version where the content is tripled. Without that i wouldn't be using it .
not a great choice of films, i wouldn't bother.
Watching breaking bad and american office currently. oh and my little boy loves all 321 episodes of Thomas the tank engine!
I did the net flix free trial, but watched everything on there we wanted to in that month. We are now come upto the end of the love film trial, and not run out yet so will be sticking with it. It's also a pound a month cheaper...
<Viztoptip>. Recreate that browsing of the charity shop DVD section experiance by subscribing to NetFlix. <viztoptip>
I subscribed to the free trial and still felt ripped off everytime I logged on. It's got about 6 films which are in each and every category to bulk them out.
I've gone back to a full lovefilm subscription.
(just in case it's not clear - netflix is utter crap)
I use netflix on the xbox and I found it better than the lovefilm offering. Watching breaking bad at the moment. Lovefilm's updates almost all seemed to be porn, not my thing.
Lovefilm might be cheaper initially but it isn't if you start having to pay for their latest releases , Netflix at least is a set price , and once again use a VPN and then it's far better than Lovefilm !!

Really? I've had the lovefilm online subscription for about six months and TBH I've been a bit underwhelmed by the selection and whats included/what newer releases (and not so new) cost extra to view.
I was considering defecting to netflix but if they're worse then I might just stick to lovefilm...
Thanks for the info, when you say use a VPN how exactly does that work? I will be using the XBOX360 to access netflix if i do it so is it usable with that?
Tried both Lovefilm and Netflix on the free month trial, both for online use only
Lovefilm was terrible, almost nothing on there at all, and if you did find anything it usually cost extra. Much better with Netflix, at least some material worth watching and a fair bit of it in HD. Agree that most of the stuff is either old or B-movie or both.
A VPN hides your IP's location so when Netflix "looks" at you it thinks your in a different country thus allowing you to access their USA site. I use my mac linked to my tv but i think I'm right in saying you can't use it if your are solely going through the xbox application.
We have Lovfilm streaming as part of our package (unlimited films through the post, 2 discs at a time for £10) - we use it quite a lot, and sort of see it as a free service, but I'm not sure I'd pay just for the streaming alone.
