We have a Romanian immigrant dog that has a euro passport with an indate rabies vaccination.
Any idea if we can we take her to France on that passport and avoid all the brexit shit of having to get a health certificate at vast expense.

Yes, as long as your vaccinations are up to date, you are good to go. We have 2 proud EU rescues (both Romanian but one was re-branded as Bulgarian in order to bypass restrictions for export of dogs from countries bordering Ukraine after the Russian invasion)

The ferry company will ask you in advance for the dogs details. You’ll need to get rabies boosters in the country of the dog’s passport at some point in future.

They’re logged in the passport, I think only needed every 3 years.
You need a worming tablet to get back into the U.K.
Yes just keep the rabies jabs updated in an EU country. Spain and Portugal are cheap and easy to get these done but check they do a 3 year booster as a lot of EU vets only do the 1 year.
Our Beti gets a yearly rabies jab in Spain and has a Hungarian passport. Last year we messed up the timing and had to pay £180 for the certificates.

Just re-read her passport. As myti says her rabies was for just one year so has expired.
So sadly we will have to go the whole hog and get her done here and get a health certificate. Close on £300!

TBH the U.K. gov should have done an agreement to allow U.K. vets todo the rabies shots.

A lot of people were actually picking up eu pet passports for their dogs whilst on hols in France for this very purpose as an eu pet passport makes life easier and cheaper, the only nuisance is having to make sure the rabies jab is valid.
