Does anyone have experiences - good or bad - of taking their dog on holiday with them to France?

Thanks.

EDIT: and how do you link to a photo in flickr?

Ah, I see. If you want to share a photo via Flickr, you upload it to Google. That makes sense. Now I have to work out whether I hate Flickr or Google more.

Pet passport user here. All good and pretty easy (used the tunnel). Bars and restaurants all seemed pretty dog friendly. I'd even learned how to say "Border Terrier" in French (just in case) - while walking through the Pyrenees, someone excitedly walked up to me and said, "C'est un Border Terrier, oui?" 🙂

Just copy the BB link in Flickr and paste it into STW, takes 2 seconds.

What @footflaps says but you only need the line that starts [img] and contains the path and jpg file name (third line I recall)

Pet passport.

You need to take them to the vets the day before returning.

The French don't allow them on their beaches in the summer mind.

Leave them in kennels.

Q How do you know that your dog loves you more than your OH?

A Easy, lock both of them in the boot of your car for an hour. Open
it and see which one is happy to see you 🙂

All good here. We took out border terrier to Pau last year so had some great walks in the nearby Pyrenees. She had to stay in the car on the crossing (4 hours) and was fine. If you haven't already they need to be chipped and have up to date innoculations, go see your vet as they'll have all the correct information and it wasn't that expensive to sort out. They'll need to have a worming tablet before return, I think it's up to 5 days before they come back into the UK, we google translated what we needed printed it out and took it to a local vet in Pau, cost €8 and you have to make sure they fill in the pet passport. Otherwise, it's the same as having your best friend here, but I don't think the French worry so much about clearing up their mess!
