Heading south tomorrow and as we have a to change trains and have enough time to grab a quick bit of food can we get some recommendations for good cheap takeaway places between Kings Cross and Waterloo stations.

There's a pretty good burrito place in Waterloo itself. Next door to burger king.

If not, how are you going across town, and how long have you got?

King's Cross has become quite the culinary centre now, if you walk over to Granary Square there's all kinds of street food stuff. If not then I'm sure there'll be something in the station itself as it's more like a shopping centre with a bit of train goings on these days 🙂

Or go to Southbank food market a few minutes from Waterloo?

We arrive at 6.50pm and leave Waterloo at 8.20pm so was thinking of walking but we have tickets for the tube. Burritos sound good.

Had a pretty good Thai and very good beer at the King's Arms on Roupell (spl) Street the other day. Might be doable in the time, not takeaway though.

Fishcoteque is pretty good, forgot about that one!

Is the burrito place Mi Casa? Reviews aren't great!

Don't know what it's called. Have had a couple of decent drunken burritos from them on the way home, though.

There's Benitos Hat in Kings Cross which is way better than Mi Casa in waterloo.

Else as suggested, go to the market behind the Southbank Centre - very close to Waterloo and lots of great traders.

The burger place across in st pancras is pretty decent. +1 for a burrito from Benito's hat in king's cross.

Tortilla for burritos ahead of Mi Casa! I'd wander up to the Kerb market stalls at the northern end of Kings Cross though, think they're there in the evening. Great burgers and Korean burritos were among the offerings last time I went.

Few places in both Waterloo and KX, but with just about enough time to spare you can briskly get to

https://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/visit/shopping/markets/food-market

but closes at 8

5 mins walk from waterloo

To save time on the tube, from KX to waterloo you need to do victoria line to Oxford Circus and then change to the Bakerloo, but it is literally the opposite platform, as opposed to a massive up and down escalator trek. The inital walk to the Victoria is worth it.
