Communication with my daughter is tricky as it currently depends on her mum allowing her to use her mums phone.
Is it possible to set up a tablet with WhatsApp via a cheap PAYG sim, so she has a “phone number” and then for her to be able to WhatsApp message me via WiFi?
Do Samsung and Lenovo tablets have the ability to do that does anyone know?
Cheers
You can load WhatsApp onto any tablet and use it via wifi
Cheers. Do you have to have a phone number to link it to do you know?
I'm pretty sure you need a phone number for WhatsApp, I seem to remember trying to load it onto my parents' tablet and it wouldn't work.
You could buy her an echo show to listen to music on. Then you can do video calls.
Alexa ,answer.
Yes Whatsapp needs a phone number. But once it up and running you can authorise a finite number of other devices. Basically you scan a qr video from the device which has the phone number
Facebook messenger is the same tech’ (the are both owned by Meta) with a worse interface. That doesn’t need a phone number and can be set up on any device
