Not seen the saw, but I've been generally pretty impressed with Rutlands stuff.

Their Mirka sander ripoff is excellent. I prefer it to the Mirka in fact.

has it now got a crown guard that doesn't drop into the blade and send smashed pieces into the face of the operator? 🙂

That video suggests Rutlands addressed the problem by putting a sticker on the saw which doesn't really cut it as a solution I don't think, I'd hope in the time thats passed since that review that they've taken more meaningful action to correct that issue. Or they might have taken Bosch's M.O. and solved the problem of having a warehouse full of faulty equipment by selling it all off  with an attractive discount (I'd had a bosch Mitre Saw that was on an exclusive special offer through Screwfix/B&Q that featured a flawed blade guard design where the action of cutting would slowly loosen its bolts each time you used it then suddenly throw the whole mechanism into the blade)

It looks like a carbon copy of the Dewalt table saws - the rack and pinion fences on those are excellent. But the thing is, non discounted, the Rutland one is not really a great deal cheaper than the real thing.
