Had my first game last night after a 20 year 'break' and was surprised that I can still play a bit.
Need a new bat as mine is past it but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Anyone else play?

I did 16-20, a lot. But not since really. I reckon it's a skill that you could pick up again.

Looks dead easy - just hold the bat still and let the other player hit it!

I prefer the phrase 'wiff waff'.

Yeah, at Uni. Haven’t touched a bat since then though.

We used to play for hours.

Pencil Grip??

Used to play league in my teens. Tried playing with my old bat a while back and the rubber was dead as a dead thing.

I remember using special glue to increase hitting speed, which probably explains why I still think I can tell the difference between 24 and 25 psi.

Played for hours at the Big Bike Bash this year. It was raining all the bleeding time, so me and my kid stayed indoors and got quite good at the ol' ping pong.

I've seen certain people play who were 'detained at her majesty's pleasure' & thought, 'he's good'
They do practice a lot though.

Not sure how common it is, but a pub in the Northern Quarter in Manchester has a load of tables. Its a bit hipster in there for my liking but the carnage that ensues with 5 tables full of pissed up Mancs letting fly is a site to behold...

Just like yourself I took it up about 5 years ago after not playing for a number of years. I now play in a local league and it's great fun and as competitive as you want to make it!
I find it fits in well with cycling as it's predominately a winter sport so us fair weather cyclists have a good excuse in cold, dark, winter nights, " Can't make it tonight, got a Ping Pong match" says it all....
