Might be over simplistic, but there is a war ongoing in a country. We want it to stop. Surely throwing weapons at the region is not the best solution, regardless of whom we arm. I can see this going pear shaped.

Of course it's the best option?, the west (mostly america) gets to supply arms to a possible emerging government that will be indebted to the US for supplying them, whether that debt be in the form of government contracts to rebuild and rape Syria's assets once the assad regime is overthrown or cash payments and preferential treatment to bolster the US arms companies (or both) it is clearly a win-win situation for all concerned.

You should place more faith and trust in the government to do what is right in these matters, 🙄 .

On a more serious note?, they are all ****wits who i wouldn't trust to leave in charge of a drive through macdonalds for fear of starting a turf war between the burger section and the deli wrap section.

Politicians and governments are nothing but lying bastards.

So 'we' don't want Assad. But if the other side wins it will likely end up with an Islamist government who will scream death to the west at every opportunity.

Better the devil you know.

it would seem that the big players are incapable of learning from history. Everybody would be better off if we just left them to it. interfering almost never works
