Managed to sync my iPhone but can't work out how to sync the new iPad (specifically wanting to sync the Google calendar).

Tried following the Google instructions with no joy and would appreciate any further advice!

You followed these instructions: http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740

Worked fine for me - where did you get to?

I followed the link at the bottom of that page and put in my email / password and then saw a screen showing the (previously) synced iPhone but no iPad or clear way of adding it. ???

You mean on the http://m.google.com page?

It should just appear there automatically after you first try to use the iPad with the account.

Assuming you've done the other steps try just opening the Calendar app on the iPad, hit "Calendars" (top left) make sure your Google one is ticked and try the refresh button.

Go back to the web page and it should now be listed.

Sorry - I can see the Google calendar in Safari but I want it to appear in the iOS calendar ( which I have been able to do on my iPhone)

Yeah sorry I'm just not being clear.

When you said you "saw a screen showing the (previously) synced iPhone but no iPad or clear way of adding it. ???"
Is that the same screen you see when you go to http://m.google.com and select "Sync"?

If so then devices only appear there after they first try to sync. So open the Calendar app on you iPad and try to sync. Then go back to that web page and your iPad should now be listed.

I had a similar problem, deleted the account on the iPad, re-added it and presto! All worked perfectly.

To get all your calendars, don't do it through the obvious "google account" part of the settings, but by adding it as a Microsoft exchange account - instructions on the gmail site....

Or you can sync via Microsoft exchange server, rather than the standard google account options....

DrP (not very good at reading the whole thread....)
