It looked like it was going to be easy.

Me and kids on android. Use gmail. everything syncs ok.

We have a family gmail and I store family contacts on there so me. wife & kids can use.

Wife just got an iphone4s and all the internet searches look easy, sync themail, but not the contacts.

Any ideas?

Sync contacts with exchange and not Gmail or anything else.

Works fine!

+1 for exchange solution, albeit a right pain

I was using exchange but I know there are problems with that now so switched to this way.

In settings, select mail contacts Calendar
Add account as gmail
Then username as your gmail email address
Password as your gmail password.

Then in contacts, select groups then tick google

I think having done it a few weeks ago.

It's defo a two stage approach unlike android.

Easiest way now is carddav:

In settings, select mail contacts Calendar
Add account as Other
Select CardDav
Server : google.com
Then username as your gmail email address
Password as your gmail password.

Done. Literally 30 seconds
