Want to get the Mrs some new headphones for swimming, with Spotify I can upload music and podcasts onto easily as she leaves her phone at home.
Any recommendations?
Cheers.

Get some bone conduction ones. Aftershokz have a swimming pair.
I tried the in ear ones and they are crap. Tend to let water in through a rubbish seal. Couldn't find any buds that worked properly.

^^^^now called Shokz OpenSwim ? were called AfterShokz XtrainerZ and still listed as by some shops from what can see....looking at buying a pair to replace my battery fading (and have always hated the crap tiny tiny controls) Sony swim things...I like my standard aftershokz for being simple to use

does anyone know if the charge cable is the same as other recent shokz ? hate having only one cable

The cable is different for the aftersockz mp3 player headphones, it's more like an enclosure

Not really no - you'll need the music/audio/whatever files in MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, or FLAC format.
You can convert from spotify to these formats but its very un-official.

Its like an old school mp3 player - you need the files.

Does anyone have a pair of the afterShokz OpenSwim? I quite like the idea, but was wondering how secure they are, I don't fancy having to wear a swimcap.

I’ve got some aftershokz swim bone conductor ‘phones. They’re very secure and work well acoustically. I use the supplied earplugs with mine and they are great. Don’t interfere with my goggles and have never needed a cap with them although they supply one in the kit.

They sound good, are easy to use but the mp3 thing drives me a bit mad. Unlike the way podcasts etc sync to my phone automatically and Bluetooth to headphones when running etc you have to make sure you upload some stuff to the aftershock before going swimming. If you leave too much stuff on there ie podcasts you’ve listened to already it becomes a mission scrolling through to find the one you need. May be easier with a standard music playlist that you’re happy to cycle through on repeat etc.

They’re great but it’s a shame they don’t auto upload. Getting podcasts across from my Mac to them is fine from bbc website but I’m a bit of a Luddite and don’t know how to achieve this from other sites or my apple podcast feed.

Ready to pull the trigger on some of these now. Are there any you can play spotify on at all? Or is it all mp3?

I haven't found any that work with Bluetooth, the water knackers the connection (technical term)

I have a some Aftershokz Aeropex running headphones but bought some Tayago MP3/BT ones for swimming at half the price of the Aftershokz/Shokz ones. They're great for the price with 8Gb storage and bluetooth means I can run in them too.

My Aeropex cracked recently (they've had huge amounts of use) but I got some newer versions thru cotswolds who I get a discount thru.... they might do the Open Swim ones.
