Just wondering if anyone (Charlie) might be able to advise…
A week in the sun has turned to a few days in the lakes, and now we are down to 3 nights away within an hour or two of Bournemouth.
Leaving tomorrow, Swanage I thought, but never been.
Anyone got any go to dog friendly posh hotels to save the eternal pain of over researching.
Budget £200pn if it’s really nice.
I have to got to Bournemouth so I don’t really fancy drying back from the lakes to Banbury then down to the coast the next day so trying to combine trips.
Nothing that you'd say is s****y in Swanage (that I know of anyway).for s****y you'd be best at The Big at Studland, which is a village just a few miles away. Long sandy beaches, access into the health and also a pub close by.
The Pig is very comfy for a winter short break, relaxed cosy lounges etc.
Sorry, missed the dog bit. The other place is Knoll House hotel. Which definitely accepts dogs. It's very old school/quite faded, but the main house has nice.lounges and bar and you're right by the beach as well.
Came here to suggest The Pig at Studland. My favourite place to stay and very atmospheric this time of year. Not sure on dog policy though and likely to to booked (except for very pricy rooms).
can't help with hotels, but if travelling from Bournemouth to Swanage the chain ferry is shut at the moment. Not the end of the world but saves a trip to Sandbanks to find out
Oh man that was quick thanks guys…
Keep em coming!
The Pig did use to have surly fat bikes you could borrow, but that was a few years ago
Shit, I could leave the dog if it’s that nice.
there is the pines hotel which is pet friendly and quite nice. has a good view too
Pines looks like it's had a big old makeover since I last went there. Might have to give it a go, some of those views look pretty epic.
Not Swanage, but the Bear in Wareham is very dog Friendly.
On the other hand, can you stay on the ‘mainland’ rather than on the ‘Island or Purbecks’?
If so there are lots more hotels to chose from.
Seaside boarding house in Burton Bradstock?

Dog friendly and great food.

No longer sadly, I did manage to get the Mrs out on them before they went, up the beach as far as the ferry. When riding a fat bike makes sense. 😜
Oof- now we back on the lakes.
Thanks for the above, but now I don’t need to go to Bournemouth so I think I’ll do lakes if I can be bothered at all.
Any posh Lake District hotel takes dog?

Another Place, Ullswater. Pricey but very good. Food is superb too in the main restaurant but has more relaxed food too in the bar bit. Saw Alen Hansen there, not sure if that’s a benchmark or not…!
Tub of lard that looks ace, but booked. Thanks for the recommendation
Looks like non stop rain everywhere, don’t know why I’m bothering.
