I enjoyed that too, despite no interest in Cyclocross.

Watched it live. Nys was just relentless in the first half of the race. 20th or so at the end of lap one, he kept the exact same time gap to the leaders while the 15 people between him and them went backwards. Then in one lap he got across. Even when he made a mess of the climb after attacking on the penultimate lap he switched tactic and used it as recovery ready for the final onslaught.

Nothing beats the attack in the Koppenberg cross last year or the final descent at Zolder though. Both unbelievable.

I've been catching up on a few of the Sveness videos the past couple of weeks. CX seems to offer some pretty good race action and looking at some of the top boys, they're properly fit and have skills to put most MTB'ers to shame!

Great racing. BBC drop the F1 and start showing this sort of racing.

I wish British Cycling would pump more £££ into cross as its just such a great sport to watch and i think us Brits could be real contenders with the right investment. Look what we've done in road and track racing.

I also think making cross more popular would be great for the public as its so accessible and such great viewing. Easy to show on TV too.

These are great videos. Somebody puts the full races on Youtube on
the Cyclocrossable youtube channel.

If you want some American CX stuff - there is loads on behindthebarriers.tv

Funny,I have been watching some these Svenness vids and remembering being at Leeds when Roger Hammond won the Worlds Junior title.
What a spectator event that was,you could scream at one section then run across the gap and see them go up to the finish, some day.
CX seems to be fairly healthy just now, could be a good time to see if there are any Hammond type stars out there. 🙂
