Wonder if the hive mind might be able to help... We're looking for small wedding venues or at least venues that would be able to accommodate a small wedding party - approx 20 people.

Location-wise, we're looking at the south coast... West/East Sussex area. Next to the sea would be nice....

We're ceremony and accommodation all in one place would be handy, though we're certainly not against a nice venue with a reg. office job for the actual deed.

Does anyone have recommendations? Either experience or just thoughts 'that would be a nice place for a shindig'.

We got married at Beaufort Park Hotel, on the edge of Hastings, but not on the sea. Been taken over since, so no idea how it may have changed since 2002, but it was great for our 35 guests, great rooms and fantastic food.

Marriage has been downhill from there..... 😉

Went to a wedding in the Tin Tabernacle, plenty of space for reception too without being too big. Nice quiet location outside Brighton/Hove.

Yoghurt Farms or something like that over in East Grinstead was nice as well, big barn for festivities and plenty of space outside.

Got married at Shelley's hotel in Lewes. Thirty guests. Was really lovely and friends still comment to that effect 10 years later. It has changed hands apparently and the beautiful garden looked rather butchered last time I passed, but it could be worth popping in to check it out if you're in the area.
