I have a few mates with TRX suspension trainers. ive had a go and im hooked. However im not prepared to pay £180 for this.

Are there any alternatives worth getting? anyone here use them?

google indicates they're available for £120? How hooked are you?

couple of old inner tubes and some bungy cord woudl probably do the job 🙂

depends what you've available I guess as to whether you need the anchors etc? At the gym there's a couple of TRX machines but most of my 'suspension' training is actually done with straps looped around various steps on the fire-escape outside.

TBH I'm not sure whether they're all 'TRX' branded (I suspect not). I think the basic TRX branded kit starts from about £100 - gymrats.co.uk has the full kit on sale for £160 but I'd have thought googling might get you some cheaper.

Or you could buy some gymnastic rings for £40 and then work from there. Muscle-ups etc. The bulk of exercises I've ever used a TRX for I could replicate with rings and some rope and a couple of gym handles (the type you get on cable machines)...

If you look closely they're not much more than some luggage straps with some handles.
