I’ve just filled out a survey for the local NHS in relation to my 2 year old daughter’s type 1 diabetes.

One of the questions asked if I had had a sex change. I am baffled as to how this will impact on her care, which has been exemplary.

Well I've given this a couple of picoseconds thought and can attach no relevance to this question.

it's irrelevant as to the care she'll receive but gives them an opportunity to break the stats down to show how many transgender people have children with type 1 diabetes.

Maybe they'll find a correlation?

They also wanted to know if her cultural beliefs had been respected. She is 2. She believes that her mummy has a lion in her office and that see-saws are the best thing in the world.

Maybe it's like when you go to the Halifax to get some cash out and they ask if you want a mortgage? Perhaps they're offering to do you a good deal on a snip and tuck?

given that you are a parent with a young child maybe the question was;

"Have you had sex for a change?"
