Of course I'm talking about fish, chips and gravy from the chippy.

I know it doesn't make gastronomic sense and would cause a riot on The Great British Menu but this is one of my favourite treats. HP brown sauce liberally applied too.

What's the STW concensus?

Me and the missis think it's weird, but the daughter used to like it before she went sort of vegan. Ming.

Fish chips and curry sauce mate. Oh, gotta be orange chips too. It's a Midlands thing - slightly coated in an orange coloured batter. They are bloomin' lovely. Not sure if it's hit other part of the country but it's deffo been a Wolves thing for a while, cos we like the healthy option.

Chips and gravy OK, chips and curry sauce OK. With fish though? No. Salt and vinegar only. Mushy peas to supply moistness.

I was with you right up until you mentioned the HP Sauce.
If you need to drown it in sauce then it means your fish and chips are crap.

Timely thread, our local chippy has just reopened so we just had chips for lunch, nom nom.

But yes, fish, chips and curry sauce for the win. Gravy is ok for dipping chips into, but pouring it over makes them go too soggy.

You can't have fish and gravy - just wrong.

Although the KFC gravy is minging too - you should only have gravy with roast chicken.
