The background.

We have just "open" planned our house and need a trendy curvy leather sofa to finish it all off.

I get a bonus next month and it has Lapierre written all over it. But I need to also do the sofa within the same budget.

All of our searches on the net come up with £3k for such a sofa which forces me down to Specialized Rockhopper.

Any ideas where I could look to reduce the sofa budget and hence increase the bike one.

TIA

Sounds like a job for me!

I second BordinBobs idea, as this will leave you lots of money for a bike. You know your only getting a nice sofa to keep "in" with the Mrs B 😉

DFS - start paying for it next year and use this year's money for the bike.

🙂

You'd have to be a bit of a mug to spend £3k on a sofa. Having said that you are looking to buy a Lapierre 😉

My brother used 2 of those for ages, with a cheap sheet thrown over the top. Worked surprisingly well but it's quite difficult to sleep on them when you're pissed

Anything at sofasofa.com that fits the bill? They're silly cheap but decent quality.

You may well be able to get bespoke sofa for that kind of money. If not go ask at twentytwentyone, conran, aram etc.

Here you go. By curvy I presumed you meant with a bend in it, got a sofa from them and it's pretty good.

Which Lapierre you looking at? I know a place selling a couple real cheap - split new just needs to shift them...would mean the bike cost less so you could still waste that amount of cash on the sofa...it's a lot of cash on something you just sit on!

DickBarton, do you mean the bike or the sofa?

Second hand isn't to be sniffed at, you might have missed many of them now, but because a lot of people buy sofas either in time for xmas or in the sales afterwards theres a glut of decent second hand sofas around in Jan/Feb.

Try Gumtree, you might get lucky.

If only DFS had a sale on............

Await post from Druidh high-handidly informing you that ONLY SOFAS CAN BE BOUGHT ON THE SOFA TO WORK SCHEME! and that you will undermine the entire sofa building industry by attempting to buy both with the same bonus. Or something. 😀

I'm not sure, but I think there might be a sale on at DFS. Be quick though because I've got a feeling it might finish on Sunday.

Just buy the one you like most at John Lewis.

And tell the wife a fancy sofa isn't going to make her happy.

😉
