It's Spring!

It'll be Easter soon and so I think it's time to start planning a return trip to Wales!
Get that bubble wrap off you bike, reconnect the battery and remember some of us have been sliding around in the snow and ice all winter.

But this isn't about who's (h)ard...

It's about getting to those fantastic welsh roads in Spring Sunshine!!!

So....who's interested? Who has the route? When seems like a good date?

Last time the twins ruled in the rain and the only bike to falter wasn't Italian....

What will happen this time?

Ohh yes! Was great last time. I'll be there, depending on the date.....
🙂

We might bring the camping gear and make a weekend of it actually

Couldn't reply from work....
Had a couple of hours out on the bike last weekend, was almost warm 😉
I could be up for a ride, would probably stay somewhere nearby the night before. Preferably not in a tent!

Count me in again Andy 😀

With (hopefully) better weather and more daylight we can potentially head further West if people fancy it, Llandovery and back through Builth Wells is a cracking route.

Actually, thinking about it, I'd be up for an overnight camping epic 😀

Soon...anyone for a date in mind. Obviously not 7th 8 th April.

Can't do the following weekend either as already in Wales for an uplift day.

Idea of going further west appeals, as does a camping adventure!

I'm game again - although I still havent fixed the GSXR lol! I have been using the temp bodge of plugging a fuse into the bypassed rear light whenever I use it (AA man did this for me on way back from last rideout) 😆
TBH I've been on a new trailie which has been far more fun in the winter than my sportsbike

I am a bit chocka over the next couple of months, but propose a date and I'll check with da boss (doubt I'll do a night away though)

Could do 18th of march or 1st April? For Sunday outings

Saturdays could be easier? Not Easter weekend or 14/15th April either...

So later in April could be good too

OK!

The weather is currently fab, and the clocks spring forward at the end of next week. How about next saturday? 31st March?

Does this work for everyone?

Meet at the same place? Severn Services before being blown left and right on the old bridge?

Good chap....

You still got the ST4s? Saw a lovely one in Bright yellow in MotoRapido yesterday

aka-Gilo...any chance you can map out the route again and be guide? You did such a fine job last time. As the light is longer we can get deeper into the countryside, and I don't mind (personally) riding back in the dark once back in England...

Missing the great tarmac and incredibly twisty roads...

Last time we met at the services on the English side of the Severn Bridge (the old one) and then rode in to deepest darkest Wales. Single will be fine. My bike won't go past 150 Miles unles I'm on a motorway.

Had a mix of bikes last time too.

A single is welcome!

Aka_Gilo will be the better person to know where the pumps can be found on the route, but none of us got too low before we found the next oasis.

Chips were excellent too!

Cant do Sat. Missus is out in the morning.
TBH weekdays are best for me atm, cause I have loads of holiday left to take.

Just checked with the missus and looks like I should be ok for this. 🙂

My suggestion is to meet at Aust services again, then Usk - Aber -Brecon - Llandovery (brekkie, brunch, lunch stop at the West End cafe) - Builth Wells - Talgarth - Aber (tea stop) - Aust services. That's about a 160 mile loop from the services.

Plenty of fuel stops en route, I only get 100 miles to a tank tops, 80-odd if I cane it.

Wos reckon chaps??

Andy, no I cant get the day off really. I'd be taking the pee, I've had a number of w/e's taken up recently with MTB races, so it I dont want to push it!
Have a good trip though, and if the weather holds, you are in for a fantastic day out 🙂

So we have no takers 🙁

It also looks like rain in mid Wales...so I propose a rain check.

EVENT CANCELLED

I will start a new search for a good date for the ride...

When would be good for everyone???

Oh. Missed this as I've not been on the forum much. Sorry.
We could have come too.

Probably best if the weather is shitty though.

I'm certainly up for a different date though. 🙂

Is anyone interested in helping organise a Scotland one?...
