I was through Anfield this week and saw that the Shankly Gates had been renamed the Gareth Gates. Something do with Liverpool's stuttering start to the season.

Mine's the Kenny coat by the door 🙂

I can't get any of the free streams to work today... Real radio has commentary though.

I really dont understand how a professional ref doesn't know the rules of the game? 😕

I hope he doesn't ever take up golf as there's about 1,000,000 rules he'll need to remember instead of the 20 he has trouble with now 😆

There were 4 of them too. Not one of them knew what Jeff Winters called a basic rule of the game. Now wonder the game has gone to shit.

To cheer up fans of the RS, there's a high quality article in the observer today on Bill Shankly. Worth a read (for any football fan).

We had them in our pockets for 85 minutes... There are some Liverpool fans asking for a re-match in the spirit of fair play (they've offered to leave out Gerrard and Torres again)!

Whatever. It was a Liverpool ball and the TV clearly showed a fan punting onto the pitch on purpose. We NEVER get the rub of the green so I'll take that one, thanks very much...

Cana was just immense.

FTM.

Liverpool fan here, got to say whatever the result there shouldnt be a rematch, it will only lead to other ****ers trying to influence matches in the future. I expect sometime this week Liverpool Echo will read boy who threw ball onto pitch beaten half to death / in hiding.

It should never have stood, the rules are clear.

Having said that, as a Liverpool supporter they deserved to be beaten and the scoreline was maybe even flattering to Liverpool. However the goal that won the game should not have been allowed.

The Dailymash usually makes me chuckle but that is pretty crap!

Surely given the rich vein of potential jokes you could make about Benitez that is pretty lame.

I don't have much sympathy for Liverpool.

I watched the extended highlights on Sky Sport. The ball was on the pitch before kick off and, for the opening few minutes, it was sitting in the back of Reina's goal - presumably put there to keep it out of the way. The pillock should have stamped on it or given it to a steward.

That's a fair point, though I was only attempting the poor humour before arsenaL could get in on the thread.
