Interesting idea this one. The chap behind it seems to be saying that if everyone who visit's a beech this year takes a rock out from the sea and takes it home or puts it somewhere high up then together we can limit the affect off global warming on sea level rise.

Sea Level is expected to rise by around 20ft over the next years, but there are some simple everyday steps we can take to limit the impact. For every kg of rock that you remove from the sea, the average sea level across the globe will fall by around 2.7 attometres. This doesn't sound like a lot, but if everyone who visits the beach this year takes a couple of big pebbles with them when they leave and takes them to a nice safe place above the high tide mark then together we can make a substantial difference to the future of the planet ( or at least the shit low lying bits like London and Miami). Remember folks that it's the total amount that matters, so the more journey's you make, the better the outcome.

That will make the ground sink though.

Linky no worky

However, won't the combined weight of all the pebbles reduce the buoyancy of our island and push us back down by exactly the same amount?

so the more journey’s you make, the better the outcome.

Sounds eco-friendly.

I guess the Guardian now realises it's been spoofed.
