What are the STW musical masses attending this summer? I'm currently without tickets for anything as one of my usual events (Farm Festival in Somerset) is not happening this year. What line ups have made you part with your hard earned?
If I did festivals, it'd be this one https://www.allpointseastfestival.com/festival
Hoping the Yeah Yeah Yeahs do a few festival warm-ups cos never seen them.
We're going to Green Man in South Wales this August. The line-up is not only great, but the names of many acts are a bit off the wall so people think you're making stuff up when you tell them.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizards, War on Drugs, Simian Mobile Disco, Public Service Broadcasting, Joan as Police Woman? Don't talk daft.
Dent Music & Beer Festival, always a great weekend of fun.

Eh? Those are all pretty mainstream these days! It’s not unlikely you’ll hear most on Radio 2 at times.
Of course, there are plenty of artists who aren’t well known, which is the point of going.
I’ve been to the last two, but I just can’t afford tickets for myself and my g/f this year, which is a shame, because there’s loads I’d like to see.
Last year I saw Big Thief, who I’d never heard of, and met her after her set it the Rough Trade tent, and bought her two albums and got them signed.
She’s now being played a lot on 6Music, had album of the day on there as well.
Same with Hurray For The Riff Raff, although they had been played on 6Music for some time.
People only don’t recognise the names because they’re not paying attention, and really don’t care much either.
King Gizzard played last year, or the year before, I can’t remember for sure, thirty-odd acts over each weekend and things can get a bit blurry.
The Shins and PJ Harvey finished things up nicely last year, though; Peej was outstanding.
I’m off to Hugh Furnly Whitingwhatsits in that there Axe..
Food/Funk/Beer/Folk..
I am tempted to say awesome, but I will really enjoy it to its full and flavoursome palette..
Blue Dot for us this year.
Couldn't find a proper festival that we fancied this year so we're off to Camden Rocks.
Big bike bash & end of the road as usual
I'm off to the niche fest that is Arctangent. Glassjaw and Shellac headlining and a smattering of other awesomeness from Vennart, Alpha Male Tea Party and many more.
Desertfest, Incineration & Bloodstock so far. Bloodstock headliners make me want to cry a little, but there'll also be good bands.
Heb Celt Fest in Stornoway is good fun.
Chrysalid & Wildthing in June for us and really looking forward to going again this year.
Two days and nights of repetitive beats, car alarms and air raid sirens 😉 Or some of the best psytrance choons going,
Happy days 😃
Greenman for me too, went last year to see PJ Harvey, who was flipping amazing. It seemed like an old school proper nice festival, met lots of nice people, very few nob heads (or non). Will probably take the tip bikes this year, do some exploring.
They do a payment plan, to spread the cost over 3 months as well.
We loved Green Man last year and may go back this year, but I prefer small - Cheaper and less hectic - if it wasn't for the lads GCSEs we'd be off to Knockengorrach to relive misspent days.....
We're off to Wilderness again - freebie! It has to be the poshest event I've been to since I went to the polo! Fortunately the food is always ace and at least this year the music bill is mildly entertaining - Chic - Jon Hopkins - Baxter Dury & !!! will do for my dad dancing.
Greenman at 155? a little pricey
Arctangent, I have it on good authority it will not rain.
The Masked Ball at Perrenporth has been our staple the last couple of years - their funk and soul stage is second to none. But this year we've bowed to pressure from the oldest son (and a banging line-up) so we're going to Shindig in Somerset with a good crew of family and friends.

Shame Farmfest isn't on cos we probably would have gone to that too, and we really should go to Beautiful Days again soon as it's our local festy and is always top larks.

A necessary evil to keep most of the proles away.
Going again this year, great line up. Always some new bands to find as well as some big names.
Ynot festival in the beautiful peaks (****ing hillside with its own bastid microclimate) of Derbyshire. 2nd year for the "new owners" there is no way they can **** it up as much as last year and hopefully serious lessons have been learned. Will be getting my dancing shoes and dodgy hat out sun night for the drug addled JK...
YNot Festival for me too - as it's just up the road and we can bail out if the weather gets shite. I'm working on the same premise as you wrightyson - it just CAN'T be as bad as last year again!
Line-up is decent and price is relatively cheap for a festival. We generally end up in the smaller tents watching bands we've never heard of though!
YNot Festival...

I always avoid Ynot, despite living near it - it looks like it's a bit of a sump for a lot of the ****s from the area.
I'm off to Distortion in Copenhagen this year again - it's only £40 and you have to get a boat to it. The whole shebang for a weekend away in Copoenhagen works out cheaper than a festival here, and it only runs in the evenings so you get a nice city break too. And the Danes are really animals when they party, it's a good laugh.
Another Shindiger here, love it, just down the road and I know loads of people there, so more of a party
was planning on working on a few festival builds, but change of plan is going to see me still building stuff, but all around the globe so I'll doubt I'll get the chance (probably still gate crash a few)

The YNot crowd is fine - from little kids to old timers.
Gets a bit wild down the front of the stage during certain bands, but I don't want to go to a festival where I sit on the grass and gently nod my head with my eyes half closed.
Not that I'm suggesting your Copenhagen festival is like that! 🙂
I'l be one of the ****s luke normal at ynot, well till my son arrives on the sat morning. We get set up and av it large for two nights then the kids arrive. However this year dear daughter is 16 and is venturing away from mum and dad in to the Beirut camp with her mates. This is quite possibly the main reason we are also going, but this way I know if she needs us we are there and not sat in the dirty sexpool at home after a bottle of wine.
I'm a 6 year ynot veteran muffin, watched it grow hugely over the last few years and hope it gets back a bit to how it used to be this year.
Showsec are running the show this year so I'd say there's gonna be zero chance of getting your own ale in to the arena, but hopefully it will be a lot more organised.
I'm at Arctangent again this year. Been to every one so far.
Anyone who thinks it won't rain is deluded.

Mainly for Avenged, GnR, Shinedown, Black Stone Cherry, Volbeat, Thunder.
Shindig was amazing in 2016 and 2017 but I didn't fancy it this year. I know those going will have a brilliant time though.
If Shindig and Farmfest are your thing, I reckon Beat-herder has got a pretty solid line-up.
Balter festival is a bit closer but I reckon I'm a bit too old and grumpy for that much messiness.
