I've got a new baby sleeping in a travel cot in the kitchen. There are boisterous toddlers in the kitchen from time to time, so I'd like to get some kind of roof for the cot to stop things (eg bricks) falling into it. I've googled but failed to find anything ready made. About the best bet looks a mosquito net, but that would make it a bit of a pain to get the baby in and out of the cot. I don't want to spend much since he'll only be in the cot for a few months. Any ideas?

Surely its less about the toddlers and more about you and other adults with kettles/cups/pans etc?

Put the cot in another room.

On the building site near us I've seen the workmen wearing hard hats to protect against falling bricks and debris. Is that an option?
