Oh bugger, I missed a friend's birthday! As a way to make amends I thought that I'd get her a running headtorch, because unlike me she likes running. As far as I know it will be used on graveled paths, dune boardwalks and no street lighting.

She lives abroad (Portugal) so if I can get it posted direct it would be more convenient. Does such a thing as Amazon.portugal exist? Can I use it here? And what torch?

I use a LED Lensor which has been really good, nice spread of focused light and doesn't eat batteries.

How much do you want to pay?

I've got a Petzl Nao and it is amazing. Cost me £75.

Something from Alpkit maybe ? - Muon looks ideal.

Mrs stoner uses one of these:

1xAA so light

I saw some of these in the local running shop the other day and the Spark seemed interesting, but I cant vouch for it. 65 lumen, USB chargeable.

Bear in mind the silverpoint ranger (125 Lumen, £25) is the same as the alpkit viper (125 Lumen, £17), so there's a bit of an uneccessary premium price for a chinese catalogue unit.

The petzl reactive head torches are truly amazing. I have the tikka version and it's perfect for night navigating.

Petal Tikka R+ here. Plenty bright enough for me running in pitch black woods. I bought from Wiggle; think they deliver to Portugal.
