I may be a bit slow to this but I stumbled across the STW Strava group earlier today and I have to say I am impressed with some of the rides in there. A fair few 200 odd mile rides and some pretty impressive climbing stats.
Who knew, some of you lot do actually ride bikes, even if they are road bikes 😆
Oh, I didn't know about that. Maybe I should join and you can laugh at my slow times (until you work out what I'm doing them on 😉 )
Very easy to frig a GPX file, so I'd take it all with a pinch of salt.
[quote=Tiger6791 ]It doesn't matter what you do it on, why would it.
Well it matters whether you use something which breaks the T&Cs, which yours does and mine doesn't.

Strange comment. You think STW users are engaged in digital doping for the mild admiration of internet strangers?

Yep, the ones who put in the big miles don't seem to be the biggest posters though, strangely.
😉
it would be good if it was mtb rides only, last time I joined it was basically a list of people who commute and ride a lot of road miles, unless that functionality has been added since.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, I'm sure loads of users cheat at Strava.

I only use the Digital EPO if my battery runs out.

This often gets trotted out but I think it's mostly a load of old testicles to be honest, there might be a very tiny minority who bother cheating, but mostly people can't be bothered and just log their rides.
Most erroneous results you see are either GPS weirdhappenings or people forgetting to turn it off when driving home.
Not that it matters either way!

Trust me, the 201miler I did on Saturday is genuine. Ask my arse...

I did suspect that the chap who 'stole' my KOM may not have been playing entirely fair, what with putting out 1900W at 90rpm to achieve 67mph...

Pound to a penny a lot more are doing so using something similar to the picture above than using digital epo.
The cheats are plain obvious, but they can only cheat once, their stats tell the real story.
i think they just create a new account and post up their same rides. We have a few riders that hoover up KOM for fun.. some are tdf speeds on the flats.. mightily impressive to some but generally about 10 mph faster than the nearest rider. I have the same feeling that i have about drug cheats
My GArmin battery died on Saturdays ride and changed my ride from 195km to over 5000km. It's the 1700km/hr that should have clinched a few KOMs but there weren't any segments between South Wales and the equator. I can't believe people intentionally hack strava data though - who are they trying to kid? Must be a tiny number of people of the total number of strava users.
