Hi,

My shed is a disgrace and is falling down. I've repaired it a few times but it's so rotten it's a waste of time. It just has garden stuff in it etc so it doesn't need to be too secure. My garden is a wierd shape and a 8x6 shed fits perfectly in the corner.

I think I want a plastic shed and the front runner is a Palram shed at around £420.

https://www.keengardener.co.uk/palram-skylight-shed-6-x-8-dark-grey.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PALR-702302&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5fv6kNeV6AIVx7HtCh3SdwYEEAkYASABEgLSl_D_BwE

Its got a floor (some don't) it seems solid and the roof let's in light so no need for a window.

Any reason not to buy one? Any other recommendations? Should I buy wood, plastic or metal?

Thanks

Without an anti drip inner coating, condensation will drip onto everything.

Everything.

I've a metal shed with the coating and it's so much better.

At that price I'd go with a wooden one and just replace in 5 years when it is goosed.

@bruneep I took your advice and ordered this shed yesterday, partly because they have a good reputation, I think they look better than plastic sheds and because the price of the plastic sheds have all gone up by over £50. https://www.tigersheds.com/product/tiger-shiplap-apex-shed/Estimated delivery mid July due to covid.

Ordered without windows (extra £10) and an extra key. Cashback with quidco brought it to £310 for a 8x6 tongue and groove shed, including T&g on the floor and roof.

Will feed back what it's like to build when it arrives.

I'd stick with wood. Get a good one, fix the roof if it gets damaged, stop the bottom getting wet, and it'll last a very long time. Should be nicer inside, too.

I'm about to go all in for a new shed. Asgard 7x11 down the side of the house, on a raised plinth.

My tiger shed turned up last week (an apex 8 x 6 tongue and groove shed with extra wide door), it seems OK, but I'll be surprised if it lasts much more than 5 years, if it gets to 10 ill be amazed.

I mean, it's fine for the money, but I wouldn't want anything more flimsy/cheaper. The wood they use is pretty lightweight, I guess you get what you pay for. I don't imagine any of the other wood sheds around the same price are any better, but it's not what I would class as well built or sturdy.

It's easy enough to build, a 2 person job in places.

I asked about sheds last month and after much googling went for a local firm who are (eventually) doing me an 8x8 apex roofed, 19mm T&G, double door, 2 windows, felted roofed, tanalised shed! £680 delivered and fitted.

It ticked all the boxes that folks mentioned I should look out for. Hopefully the tips will open soon and I can get rid of all the rubbish out back to make way for the new arrival

I built the tiger shed last week.

Very well designed, easy to build and is solid. Delivery was good too. Overall for the money I was very impressed.

However, as above, the wood is very lightweight, I had to trim the edging down for the roof gable and it broke as I was cutting it. It's also on the thin side but it was £300 delivered!

However, if I keep the roof sealed and the walls stained and the floor dry I have no dought it will last a good 10 or 15 years, maybe even 20?

For the money I'd give it 8 out of 10.
