I was about to go for a 40 mile ride down to Calshot and back but RainToday shows a big load of weather heading this way in the next hour and I don't fancy getting soaked.
Anyone in Exeter, Weymouth, Bournemouth who can confirm if it is raining there and when it started please.
Poole/Bournemouth border, just started spitting with rain.
The Met Office radar is your best bet for nowcasting (beyond looking out of the window).
I tend to use Epic Ride Weather if I've got a longer route in mind and the weather looks changable. You give it a route (via strava/komoot/ridewithgps/uploading a gpx), tell it when you're setting off and how fast you'll be going, and it will work out the forecast weather at each point of your ride at the time you expect to be there. Pretty neat. I think you can use it a few times for free but it's not much per year if it takes your fancy.
Thanks - I figure that gives be about 90 minutes before I do not want to be out there riding. About the time I am a long way from home with no shelter riding acrioss the New Forest. Perhaps I will work on my art instead.

Rain expected at my local weather station in SO18 anytime now, the rain clouds have rapidly reached us ahead of schedule predicted all morning.
If you've not ridden to the north east of Southampton in a while, there are some nice "non-mountainous" cycling roads and lanes in the Moorgreen / Swanmore / Twyford triangle.
Just downloaded this Epic Ride Weather and it looks good.
North/East - Id did this on Thursday aso was hoping to try the New Forest for something different
