So me and the wife fancy in car dvd for the kids to make journeys less of a pain. Any recommendations? Need two screens, so maybe a player each? Or a dual screen player? Help me STW you're my only hope.

Sounds like a sensible swap.

Why would you need two screens, incidentally? To stop disagreements on who's watching what?

I installed an up-front one in our car, and will be buying a rear screen soon perhaps, in time for our journey home.

The first DVDs we bought were strap on (ooer missus) jobs from Halfords, they had one DVD player and two screens, they worked fine, but they got ruined because the cables kept on getting pulled out, and the screens were a poor fit on the headrests.
I then bought some DVDs/Screens that are integrated into the headrests from Ebay, they are a lot neater as all the cable run inside the seats, so there is nothing that can be pulled out, there is also a DVD player in each headrest, so there are no arguements over what to watch. They came with game controllers and games, but they were pretty poor and some of the language in the games was interesting, so they were binned. They were just cheap unbranded units, but they are now 12 months old and still work great, the headrests are a universal fit, but I had to buy adapters to fit our seats, they do rattle slightly if there is no one sitting in the passenger seat.
If you do a search on Ebay there are loads available.

How'd that work? Replacement headrests with screens in, or did you fit them in somehow?

We recently got a 2nd hand Goodmans set as a gift! What a Godsend, the only argument then was as it was two screens (Strap onto headrests type) and one DVD player, what would be watched - funnily enough my six year old boy does not like princess films and my 4yr old girl is not a fan of Ben 10 or Transformers (Yet)!

But after so many bad journeys, it really was a wonderful silence on the way down. What I would recommend is giving them can type headphones to go with the player!

Rysz.

Two of my three kids get car sick with these. That's a whole new world of entertainment on the motorway.

Apparently there's a swingarm mount thingy for the ipad which attaches to a headrest and positions the ipad inbetween the two front seats, thus allowing all back seat passengers to view the screen.

This was going to be my justfication for an ipad over a pair of dvd screens.

Highly used since Xmas with no issues and brilliant for the price. Can be used plugged in to wall sockets as well which is good for holidays etc. Strap on(!) so can be easily removed if in a dodgy part of town.

A couple of sets of these recommended as well....volume limited which is good...

We have tinted windows in the back so that helps with them seeing the screens - not sure of that's an issue for you to think about?

We've got a pair that will play movies from a USB stick or DVD - I think they're Nextbase SD47 somethings.

We bought them as a pair from ebay from a chap that reconditions them. They were about £100 and are really very good. You can get the same movie on both or use them independently.

When we first used them with headphones, MrsG and I didn't know what to do - the silence was deafening!

EDIT: Just followed the URL in sniff's post and those are the very beasties!
