Not sure why but I ended up counting how many different places I'd slept this year last night! Not suggesting I'm some sort of gigilo - this includes anything from sleeping in the spare bed to camping/holidays to staying at mates/in-laws.

Mine to date is 18.

What about you stallions?

does a tent count as one or one for each night in a different place?

In that case its only half a dozen for me - plus around 20 nights in the tent

34 that I can think of so far. That does include a sleeper train and a sleeper bus so, depending on how you count those, it could be 32 (or more if you count planes).

About 80 to date. Mind you, I don't work all the time.

Most of them Premier Inns. #purple

What about different rooms in the same hotel? How does that score?

I've included them in my guess. CBA remembering individual room choices any more! Mind you, my usual room in Glastonbury seems to now be someone else's fave 🙁

Does the tent and the bivvy bag count as two if I've used the same sleeping bag? If so then I might have reached a dizzying 6. A campervan has taken the place of weekend hotel breaks.

Just the one, if I don’t count a rough night on the sofa.

I'd guess at 10 maybe, not had that many weekends away this year.

What if you buy a new bed part way through the year? Does Mrs R say you can include both?

About 10 here. I find the older I get, the more I try to avoid being away.

Sleeper train/bus should count.
Planes - not sure - couple of hours shut eye or full on kip? You decide!
New and old beds count double.
Scotroutes - I'll allow that 😉
Just a bit of fun folks - thought mine was a lot but clearly not as keen a bed hopper/swapper as some of you!

If scotroutes can count a bivvy separately to the tent, can I count 3 different tents (I think it was even different sleeping bags in one case)?

In which case my count is an incredible 5 so far this year. Or can I count napping on the sofa as one extra?

intersting!
around 15 I think all in which is quite a lot more than usual I think - combination of short family breaks, visit(s) to offspring or collection of same, MTB trips, and short breaks now that have an empty nest 🙂

Approx 35 I think, mostly through camping, biking, walking and canoeing trips. Includes ferries, the top of a mountain, on a sleeper train. Doesn't include the sofa.

Must be about 20 - 30 for me. 30+ nights in hotels for work so far but most of those have been multi-night. 5 overnight flights I think, moved house in August, my parents and the in-laws and a few nights camping. Must count properly next year!

Four. My old bed, the double I’ve now got since I have the house to myself, my sleeping bag at Greenman and my g/f’s bed at her mum’s house in Salisbury last weekend.
