I have a metal valve caps on my cars, one is stuck. I've tried numerous evenings of GT85 application, and use of a hairdryer in an attempt ot expand it.

Any other ideas to save me paying the local Tyre shop for a tyre on/off new valve?

Hair drier ... Hopeful.

Boiling water , pair of pliers and the right size spanner - or another pair of molegrips. - set them up so they fit and grip quickly.

Pour the boiling water over slowely then as soon as you stop - get the tools on and turn.

I just had this problem with a cross-threaded one, in the end pliers + a bit of inner tube for grip was enough to get it moving

Two pairs of pliers, one for the stem one for the cap. Wear safety glasses in case you make a shop front of the job and rip the valve out 😀

Don't forget to take the other 3 off and fit plastic ones.

Just be carefull they are not the aftermarket jobbies off ebay. They have a grub screw holding them on and you will not get them off using the above methods.

The grub screw rusts in place and the allen key wont undo it anymore. A right PITA to get off
