Can anyone help or advise please?

If I create a club, and then an event, how can I see a list of people that rode that event and ideally a list of times taken to ride it? Is this even possible now without a subscription?

Never tried that. Got a club and people are in it but no events created.

Might not be doable.
My runing club are doing similar to what you suggest, social distance racing on strava, for example this week - 10k at east half off road, as many goes as you like, fastest counts.
We have to upload them, or at least the one we want to count, and then email the person who's co-ordinating it the link to our run and he then looks at them and works out the overall winner and the handicaps and things.
30-40 of us so not too bad, if there's a dozen in your club do it that way, if there's several hundred maybe get a subscription. Or get someone else in the club who has a subscription to do it

I subscribed a fortnight ago for this reason. We do Strava events a couple of times a year and I need to see riders times on the evening Of the event. I wasn’t convinced I’d get all the info on the free version

Recent article on another well known cycling site about bike insurance and club segment competitions, bit of a minefield.

So, with a sub its easy? Do you need to create a segment for the whole route, do I need to follow all the participants? How does it work?

The info was all there before so with a sub no reason to think otherwise. Events are enduro style so yep segments have to be ridden and created unless they already exist.
