Odd request but any ideas where I could get a nice wooden box from? Preferably engraved if possible.
I've looked on eBay but I'm a bit unsure where to start googling !

Maybe look on Etsy rather than EBay - more makers and designers there who’d be able to offer some personalisation

not that it’s the sort of place that would be open just now but if you’ve got a Trophy shop locally often there offer all sorts of engraving services / products

Size? Budget? Pretty sure there were a few handy types on the “STW services” sticky thread.

There's a couple of very good cabinet makers on that thread.

I've a friend Teri who makes beautiful marquetry boxes, could be what you are after, assuming you don't want something 6ft long 🙂

When I have something worthy of putting in one, I'm going to get one.

I've got an old double-sided colour slide box, nicely made in something like beech, which is about to go in the skip along with six Kodak slide carousels. You're welcome to have it.

Blimey, I didn't expect two replies! The box isn't very beautiful but it's in sound condition so a good sanding and re-varnish would make it like new. Since the thread and the request came from big yim I'll pm some pics. If he's not interested I'll send the pics to joshvegas. Hope that's OK?
