I've just been looking through my old LPs and noticed that I seem to have a large number with strange and probably drug-induced titles. Anyone beat these:

Weasels ripped my flesh (Zappa)
Hot Rats (Zappa)
U (Incredible String band)
The 5000 Spirits or the layers of the onion (ISB again)
The hangmans beautiful daughter (ISB)
Liquid Acrobat as regards the air (ISB)
Trout mask replica (Captain Beefheart)
Swordfish trombones (Tom Waits)
Be glad for the song has no ending (Mike Heron)
Myrrh (Robin willamson)
A glint at the Kindling (Robin Williamson)
Disraeli Gears (Cream)
Songs of love and hate (leonard Cohen)

There's more, but that'll do for now ....

Peter Gabriel's early work had some interesting titles. Sort of....

Some are self-consciously wacky, like MAD Colin from the Fast Show.

Have you heard of Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline by Gomez?

Beautiful Freak - Eels.
A crow left of the murder - Incubus.
Gutter Phenomenom - Everytime I Die.

swadey - i work with this fella (he works with audience response keypad systems). he has always had a really (and i mean frighteningly) dry sense of humour. calls himself Mutley. turns out he IS Mutley from the Macc lads, hence the sense of humour. he wrote most of their lyrics. took me 3 years to work this out, he's not embarrassed by it, just keeps it quiet!

I like
"Dig a hole in the substrate and tell me what you see" - Jim White
and anything by Stereolab -
"Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky night"
springs to mind.

Incredible String band - they were a 'guilty secret' when I was a mod and only supposed to like soul music (and only certain sorts of that!). Still like 'em, though (and Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Richard thompson and various other 60's survivors.

"The mysterious tale of how i shouted 'Wrong eyed Jesus!'" another classic title by Jim White. Very wordy fella, always interesting. When i bought that album, i ran right back to the record store to seek out his back catalogue, only to be told, that's it, it's a debut release - shocking! A man who sounds like he was born in a recording studio.
