Damn, one of the most powerful documentaries I’ve seen. Storyville always seems to come up with them. Bloke gets blown up by a car/truck bomb, contacted in hospital , “the Major is badly injured but will be back at work tomorrow” while theyre picking schrapnel out of him.

Proper hero.

Amazing program. He knew he'd be blown up eventually but still devoted all his time to try and help others.

Proper hero (armed with just a pair of wire cutters!).

Imagine the fear caused by the sound of a mobile phone ringing?

Good recommendation. A very selfless man. Didnt have enough time to watch until the end last night but can guess what's coming.

Having been attached to EOD for 6 months I'm amazed at the risks he took. Mind you, I watched a PSNI officer walk up to a suspicious package and slice it open with a leatherman.

11 Explosive are based in Didcot. Top lads if we ever see them in town. The town grieves when they lose a man.

He made a huge difference to people and saved thousands of lives, not just civilians but saved other people having to defuse them.  I knew it was only going to end one way but to see the footage was scary especially when the phone rang.

He's certainly a hero there.

Literally watched through my fingers.... just knowing that brave man's time was coming. Even then he was "We'll finish up here and move on to the next house"... incredible.

When, where was this on? It's not shown in any listings for this part of the world.

Usually watch Storyville because they are invariably good programmes.

B. what incredible footage

I thought it looked like a set up. Hope his mates sorted them out!

Exactly what I thought- and being tired and in pain, the reasons why he said he wouldn’t do it, effected his judgement... I screamed ‘No!’ at the tv when he got out of the car... ah man.
