Has anyone been successful in stopping cats pooping on your grass. Its not usually something that bothers me but my 2 year old and pregnant wife has had a few close calls and my blood is starting to boil. There are 4 possible culprits.

Ive scared a few off, threw a pint of water over one, tried kicking one.

Next steps:
- chemicals on the grass, vinegar etc. but that sucks,
- booby traps of some kind including a black bag and a river (perhaps not)
- Stop trying to kick them but actually kick them.

Same issue. I read citrus fruit skins are a deterrent but no luck here. There’s now shit on top of the orange peel.

There's a big thread on this somewhere, but the current working deterrent du jour which works for several of us is Get Off!

Tricky with young children around that could come into contact with harmful deterrents - I have suggested motion detecting water sprinklers in the past - a safer way of deterring cats. Just remember to switch it off before using the garden.

someone mentioned about using mirrors and they hate looking at themselves when going for a dump. We bought some from the poundshop and will report back

Do cats recognise themselves in mirrors? 😂

the current working deterrent du jour

Kryton. You don't need to put current and du jour both in the sentence. They serve the same function.

Ultrasonic repellor worked a treat for us.

Probably cats competing for territory and marking "their" area.

The only answer is to show them you're top cat by doing a bigger, smellier shit than them.

my parents had one of the early ones, being semi rural we had issues with deer and foxes getting into the garden by the only entrance/exit which was next to the house, then freaking out and refusing/forgetting how to leave once people and cars were back.

As a kid I could hear it, your high frequency hearing goes over time. Maybe not best with young kids or close neighbours with them. But they may have improved over the years.

My mum has 4 of the ultrasonic ones in her garden , one on each corner facing inwards . Probably a bit of overkill but hasn’t spotted a single cat in 2 months now. She tried coffee grounds, citrus peels and all kinds of weird stuff but nothing works like the ultrasonics. They have the added bonus of getting on the grandkids nerves

pick it all up put in a box and leave the box on the door step of who owns the cat, personally i think its disgusting, if it was a neighbours dog then you'd report to local council, but with cats it seems to be different, they are a pet same as dogs so why do cat owners just let there cats stray ?

– Stop trying to kick them but actually kick them.

So you would kick somebody's beloved pet?

Possibly causing serious internal injuries / death or massive vet bills.

You need a chat with yourself fella.

Neighbour's dog dumped on my front lawn yesterday. Came out this morning and found a big dump in the middle. Thought it's most likely the lab, or nob head's dog in the corner, but it's a bit big for his Cavalier. Checked CCTV and the lab had got out, wandered across and dumped. Easy to check as the movement recordings showed no dump, then a dump - took less than a minute to find out. Just chucked the poop down the grid. Had it been nobs dog, I would have launched it across the road onto his drive. We all have one nob neighbour.

Cheap instant coffee worked for me but you would need a dry spell. Sprinkler it around the areas where you would expect them to walk or dump.
