Neighbour has cctv. Five people, tooled up clear ringleader, clear plan. Walking up the road carrying my bikes. Cut locks on garage door, broke out rear window, to keep an escape route, they stopped under a street light to see what they had. Not even late at 12:30😞

It gets worse, neighbour has just found out that their garage was also broken into. Road bike and Mountain bike also taken...

Any other neighbours targeted, or did they know where the bikes were?

I could lend you a road bike over the Christmas period if you wanted (suit around 6ft). I don't have a spare mountain bike (unless you want a 26" rockhopper with carbon rigid forks that would probably need a bit of work to get on the road).

I am in Keynsham.

Eskay, That’s a generous and kind offer. Thanks very much indeed. My sister has offered a loan of her bike so given the risk of bike ownership round here I think it would be safer to keep your bikes where you are.
There is cctv of the 5 scrotes coming and going up and down the road, first with my three then my neighbours 2. That’s quite a few £000 worth of metal and CF in a night.

A mate has had his Giant Reign Advanced plus three other bikes pinched 4 days ago after thieves broke in through his garage roof & cut through a gold standard chain. I'm not sure exactly where he lives, but it's somewhere in the Bristol area.

Marin, sorry to hear that. can you ask if there was any cctv from that your mates break in? We have a good couple of images of the group that took ours so would be interesting if there are any similarities.

Not that you can read into such things necessarily but stopping to check the haul under a street light suggests a less organised, more opportunistic gang - which might mean the bikes stay local. I'll keep an eye out for the Trek and any others you post pictures of.

Ugh. Having lived in BS9 myself and been victim to exactly the same type of hit - through the roof, angle ground the various serious locks etc, and then f'd off with 10k's worth of bikes, I know that pain well - you have my thoughts 🙁

I'll keep an eye out, but I've never seen any of the bikes I've had nicked again - I'm sure they're shipped off out the country as parts.

BS3 Resident here. Will keep my eyes peeled as always.

So much bike theft in our city, it's really really scary.

Gah that sucks. We've had 4 garage break in's in a 2 month period on our street. Neighbours already been done earlier this year (scrote got caught by CCTV in another neighbours garden). Pretty much just waiting to wake up to mine being gone too. Although hopefully the dog will wake us up.

Those that got in through roofs - what kind of roof was it? Ours is leaking and needs to be replaced anyway and I'm wondering how to secure it at the same time.

Hi All,
Sorry been busy trying to secure the garage from further scrote ingress. We need the dining room back as the kids & Mrsdts bikes are all in there...
Oafishb, just off Parrys Lane, they were walking up towards the Uni Halls with their haul, suspect they had a van parked up that way. Have contacted Uni to see what CCTV they have, it is bristling with cameras up there. I believe it was an organised gang, clear leader on the vid.
Madegar, yes. Police seem ambivalent to it, relying on me doing the footwork.
Poor chap next door, just moved here from France for work, feel cross for him too. Luckily his wifes bike was in the house..

I have a feeling I was followed back from the bike shop with the Trek last week. It just had a full service, bearings and all plus a CF frame repair.. It was practically rebuilt. Rode it once since service.

I haven't got any photos of the other two. One was a Traffic Grey Cotic Soul Mk1 (I think) With Black matt graphics.White Fox Float forks, Shimano Deore Brakes
The Specialized was White but I had wrapped the top tube in black carbon fibre vinyl.
This bike had loads of tiny silver labels on it, dotted here and there on loads of the components. They have My name and number on.They will be murder to get off.

They all had Exposure front light mounts on, luckily the lights were in the kitchen.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts, 😉

Bollix. Had two attempts on my garage in the past, but it's right below our bedroom window, so one was 'heard'. The other took glass out of the wooden window - very carefully, but god knows why as the window is 'barred' on the inside.

That Trek isn't a common bike.

The Trek is a one or two off, it has the former owners sponsors parts on it.
